At the Ruhr Games 23, the International Championships will be the first BMX Freestyle Park competition: A wide variety of ramps and obstacles will be set up on an area of 40x30 metres, on which approx. 60 athletes from 15 nations will compete. The International Championships are an official UCI Category 1 contest where points can be collected for the official World Ranking - thus the tournament is also relevant for the 2024 Olympic qualification in Paris.
Even the youngest riders get the chance to compete with experienced BMX freestylers. One of them is high-flyer Lennox Zimmermann - the fifteen-year-old is part of the TalentTeam Ruhr and German Youth Champion in BMX Freestyle.
